Common questions
What is ads.txt and why does AdSense want it?
ads.txt (Authorized Digital Sellers) is a plain-text file that publicly lists who is allowed to sell ad space on your site. It protects your ad revenue from spoofing — buyers can verify that ads on your blog are genuinely sold through your AdSense account.
Where do I find my publisher ID?
Sign in to AdSense, then go to Account → Settings → Account information. It looks like pub-1234567890123456 (16 digits). You can paste it with or without the ca-pub- prefix — this tool cleans it up automatically.
What does the f08c47fec0942fa0 part mean?
That's Google's certification authority ID (TAG ID). It's the same for every AdSense publisher worldwide, so you never need to change it.
How long until the "Earnings at risk" warning disappears?
After you save the file in Blogger, Google usually re-crawls within a few days, though it can take up to a couple of weeks. As long as your line is visible at /ads.txt, no further action is needed.
I use a custom domain on Blogger — does this still work?
Yes. Blogger serves the custom ads.txt at the root of whatever domain your blog uses, custom or blogspot.com.
